PT Licensing Board

Need to Renew Your License with the Oregon Board of Physical Therapy?

All licenses issued by the Board expire on March 31, every even numbered year, unless renewed prior to that date.

Accessing Renewal

  • You must login to your account using the email address that the Board has on file for you
  • If you get locked out of the Licensee Portal, you can use the Forgot Password link on the portal.
  • If you are not able to login, please try ALL of your email addresses if you’re not receiving an email when using the Forgot Password button. In most cases, this is due to using the incorrect email address.
  • If you are still not able to get access, Board Staff can reset your account.

Continuing Competency

If you have questions about Oregon’s continuing competency requirements, please see the OBPT dedicated web page for full details, as many questions that we receive are already answered there: https://www.oregon.gov/pt/pages/continuing-competency.aspx

Required Courses

  • Pain Module-- Due to recent legislation, all licensees are required to take the Oregon Pain Management Module to renew their license. Take the free course here: https://www.oregon.gov/oha/HPA/dsi-pmc/Pages/module.aspx. This course counts toward your total hours.  If you’ve previously taken the course on or after April 1st, 2021, it counts toward this requirement.  Older completions prior to April 1st, 2021, cannot be used to meet the requirement.
  • Cultural Competency-- All licensees must also take a minimum of 1 CC of cultural competency that meets OHA’s criteria. Please see details on the requirements at the bottom of the Continuing Competency page of our website, including a listing of courses that meet the requirement, although many other courses would meet the criteria as well.  Please see https://www.oregon.gov/pt/pages/continuing-competency.aspx

You can also take APTA Oregon’s On-Demand Course available 24/7.

Please Note: OBPT staff are temporarily working extended hours to process renewals and assist licensees with renewal questions as quickly as possible. OBPT staff review every renewal submitted- the system does not automatically issue a license. Turnaround time for the review process varies depending on current renewal volume.
